Our journeys into outer space brought us closer to understanding the universe. They also left behind numerous pieces of garbage known as “space junk” that pose threats to spacecrafts and space stations. This orbiting dump includes thousands of nuts, bolts, gloves, and other debris. Data from a 1999 study indicate there around 110,000 objects larger than 1 centimeter orbiting the Earth left from our ventures into space. Even the smallest of these could do serious harm to a satellite or space-based telescope. It could also threaten the lives of those aboard the International Space Station. U.S. Space Command takes responsibility for keeping an eye on space junk. This agency reports any potential threat to NASA, which sometimes must order emergency maneuvers to avoid space collisions. Which sentence could be added to support the author's claim that space junk is hazardous?
A.
In one space mission alone, over 200 plastic bags were released into space by the space shuttle.
B.
When these objects finally drift back through our atmosphere, they can be mistaken for shooting stars.
C.
To illustrate, a tiny paint chip off a satellite once gouged a quarter-inch dent in a space shuttle window.
D.
Currently, the United States is responsible for more space garbage than the Soviet Union.

Can someone please help me? My teacher said i needed more evidence and reasoning, so can some one help me?
Have you ever heard of the saying; an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure? This saying means trying to stop something from happening is easier and better than having to try to resolve it later. I learned the hard way that taking care of your injuries is important when I was in Fifth grade.

I had hurt my foot and ankle in fifth grade, but I did not tell anyone for a while. Once I did my mom made an appointment with the doctor and set it specifically, so I would not have to participate in gym class. I of course did not listen to her and participated in gym anyways to run a mile. I ended up being on non- weight bearing crutches for six and a half months since I did not try to prevent a bigger injury, and instead I had to resolve it later.

Many people, whether it is with injuries, sicknesses, or just small things, do not take the time to take care of themselves, and end up worsening it later. I did just that, but I learned from that to try to pay attention to my injuries and not leave it for later. If I had taken my injury seriously and not participated in gym class, then my injury would not be as severe. The saying an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure is like a vaccine, if you take it you still might get sick but just not as bad. Next time, I will pay attention to my injuries. Next time, I will be more cautious. Next time, I will not get as hurt.

Taking care of yourself and trying to stop something from happening instead of leaving it to be resolved later is important. Knowing the saying, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, is a great way to remember to do that. I know firsthand from hurting my foot in fifth grade that it is important to take injuries seriously to make sure it does not become more severe.

Maybe adding more details to your story? Or talk more about the phrase itself.

Explanation:

Adding more details based on how you felt, and longing the consequences could be beneficial here. Besides that, possibly adding another story? If you don't have one, then think about a famous story that deepens within your paper. Also, maybe make another paragraph or two to talk about the meaning of the phrase. That's my biggest idea for you, good luck! (sorry if this wasn't very helpful, I'm a seventh grader.)

(here's an example, this is just how I pictured it. feel free to use it:D)

"The phrase itself is very important; when used, it is most likely in the persons best interest that the other person in the conversation stays safe. For example, you would want your friend to stay safe if they were participating in dangerous activities without proper equipment. Risks aren't always the best solution, and that is what the phrase is creating awareness for."

Answer:

it is the last one hope I helped

Answer:

The first one is correct.

Explanation:

When you write the name of one city, you put a comma inbetween the city and the state names.

Ex: Durango, Colorado

When you list multiple cities in multiple different states, you need to put semicolons in between them. When you don't do this it looks like you are just listing states and cities separately. The last option is a perfect example of this. If you read it out loud, it just doesn't sound right.  Ex: Durango, Colorado, Las Vegas, Nevada. It sounds as if you were reading a list of names off the class roster.

When you add semicolons, it clarifies a series and indicates two closely related sentences. The first answer does this correctly, so the first answer is the correct one.
