many people don't have access to health care.
Answer: paying for health care can be very difficult for families.

In stating that medical expenses were the leading cause of bankruptcy, the author is showing that paying these expenses takes such a toll on a person's resources that they can lose all they have and file for bankruptcy.
It is very difficult therefore, for some families to pay for health care because if doing so is so expensive that it causes bankruptcies, it only makes sense that these expenses are very taxing on families.

1 poin
pheromones are secreted by the thyroid and produce insulin
pheromones are released into the environment rather than being held within the body
tissues
female pheromones tell males which females have compatible immune systems
O none of the above statements are true
The correct answer is B. Pheromones are released into the environment rather than being held within the body.
Explanation
Pheromones are chemical substances secreted by living beings, in order to cause specific behaviors in other individuals of the same species. They are a means of transmitting volatile signals produced in liquid form, which are then dispersed throughout the environment. This is used by different species of plants and animals as a means of communication and almost all send one or more codes by this means, both to attract or reject each other sexually as well as for other purposes. According to the above, the correct answer is B. Pheromones are released into the environment rather tan being held within the body.

A genetic algorithm is a search heuristic that is inspired by Charles Darwin’s theory of natural evolution. This algorithm reflects the process of natural selection where the fittest individuals are selected for reproduction in order to produce offspring of the next generation.

Notion of Natural Selection
The process of natural selection starts with the selection of fittest individuals from a population. They produce offspring which inherit the characteristics of the parents and will be added to the next generation. If parents have better fitness, their offspring will be better than parents and have a better chance at surviving. This process keeps on iterating and at the end, a generation with the fittest individuals will be found.
This notion can be applied for a search problem. We consider a set of solutions for a problem and select the set of best ones out of them.
Five phases are considered in a genetic algorithm.
Initial population
Fitness function
Selection
Crossover
Mutation
Initial Population
The process begins with a set of individuals which is called a Population. Each individual is a solution to the problem you want to solve.
An individual is characterized by a set of parameters (variables) known as Genes. Genes are joined into a string to form a Chromosome (solution).
In a genetic algorithm, the set of genes of an individual is represented using a string, in terms of an alphabet. Usually, binary values are used (string of 1s and 0s). We say that we encode the genes in a chromosome.

A physician orders amoxicillin 50mg/ml for a child at 1ml po q8h for 10 days. What is the total volume that must be dispensed in ml, if amoxicillin stock is 125mg/5ml
Answer:
The key (C) is correct because the dose is 1 mL three times a day for 10 days which is 30 mL. The dose is 50 mg/mL so 50 mg x 30 mL is 1500 mg total in 10 days. If your stock concentration is 12 5mg/5 mL, then you will need 60 mL of that stock solution to provide the total dose for 10 days (i.e., 1500 mg x 5 mL divided by 125 mg = 60 mL) or 1500 mg/X mL = 125 mg/5 mL and solve for X
Explanation:
The total volume that must be dispensed in ml is 60ml
First step is calculate the ml when the dose is taken 3 times per day for 10 days
ml=1 mL *3* 10 days
mL=30 mL
Second step is to calculate the Total mg in 10 days
Total mg=50 mg/mL *30 mL
Total mg=1500 mg
Last step is to calculate total volume that must be dispensed in ml
Total volume in ml=1500 mg * 5 mL /125 m
Total volume in ml=7500/125m
Total volume in ml= 60 mL
Inconclusion The total volume that must be dispensed in ml is 60ml.

Aiden is four years old and has cystic fibrosis.
O Michael is a former coal miner with byssinosis.
Kiko has a bacterial infection causing her tuberculosis.
O Gerald is a former cotton picker with anthracosis.
O Parker has high blood carbon dioxide levels from her hyperventilation.
Answer:
Gerald is a former cotton picker with anthracosis.
Explanation:
Anthracosis is a type of generic term that is used to refer the blackening of the tissues. The darkening black color of the tissues is due to the excess carbon inside the lungs. Due to the constant exposure to the coal dust and the pollution, it can be inhaled directly into the lungs.
The three responses which most likely contain error include:
Michael is a former coal miner with byssinosis.Gerald is a former cotton picker with anthracosis.Parker has high blood carbon dioxide levels from her hyperventilation. What is Respiratory disease? These are diseases which attack the respiratory cells, organs etc such as the lungs.
The patients mentioned above will most likely contain error because they affect the respiratory tract and cause high level of carbon dioxide build up due to different unfavorable conditions such as presence of contaminants in the airways etc.

According to Freud, the represents reason and develops during the first year of life or so.
Answer:
ego
Explanation:
Sigmund Freud was an Austrian who founded the Psychosexual Stages of Development. According to him, the human personality depends on three elements: id, ego and superego.
The element that is associated with reason is the "ego." It develops from "id," which is fueled by the pleasure principle. The ego aids the id to express its impulses in accordance to what is accepted in the society. If the "id" acts immediately without thinking, the "ego" thinks carefully before acting. It allows a person to do things appropriately.
Sara is often tired when she wakes up, so she starts drinking coffee every day at 8:00 am, which makes her feel energized. One morning she is coming home from the grocery store she notices the time - it is 8:00 am. She had not wanted coffee before she checked the time, but she suddenly feels tired and craves the drink. Sara’s sudden craving for coffee after noticing the time is an example of which behavior? Explain that phenomena in detail.
Answer:
conditioned response
Explanation:
A "conditioned response" is part of "Classical Conditioning." This associates the unconditioned stimulus and neutral stimulus in order to create a conditioned/learned response. It follows three phases: Before Conditioning, During Conditioning and After Conditioning.
For example, the unconditioned stimulus above is the smell of coffee while the unconditioned response is feeling hunger in response to coffee's smell. They are paired with a neutral stimulus, which is the 8:00 a.m. time. Such pairing allowed Sara to develop a conditioned response whenever she says the time (8:00 a.m.). In this case, the neutral stimulus becomes a conditioned stimulus. This is the reason why Sara feels attracted to drink coffee whenever she notices the 8:00 a.m. time.

11. The Martins' oil furnace can produce 125,000 Btu's of heat in an hour when it is
3.5 hours?
Answer:
437500 Btu's of heat is produced in 3.5 hours.
Explanation:
Given that,
The Martins' oil furnace can produce 125,000 Btu's of heat in an hour.
We need to find heat produced in 3.5 hours.
1 hour = 125,000 Btu's of heat
For 3.5 hours,
3.5 hour = 3.5 × 125,000 Btu's of heat
= 437500 Btu's of heat
So, 437500 Btu's of heat is produced in 3.5 hours.
