It is not very long, not very loud and not in 3-D. It has no attention-grabbing celebrity voice work, and the only pop-cultural allusions it makes are to other stories and films about Pooh and his friends. Which is not to say that the movie is obnoxiously self-referential, but rather that it is comfortable with itself and confident in its ability to amuse and beguile young viewers.
The partial Americanization of Winnie the Pooh, starting in the 1960s, was one of Walt Disney’s most brazen and successful acts of appropriation. Public-domain fairy tale princesses like Snow White and Cinderella may have been easier to conquer than A. A. Milne’s beloved bear of very little brain, and the first “Pooh” featurettes—collected in “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh”—triumphed by respecting both the look and the sensibility of the literary source. Disney’s animated landscapes evoked E. H. Shepard’s lovely illustrations with such care that the book seemed to be coming to life on screen.
The new Winnie the Pooh, directed by Stephen J. Anderson and Don Hall, makes similarly witty use of typography, sending its characters scrambling over lines of type, which serve as obstacles, means of rescue and invitations to surreal jokes that are both sophisticated and accessible to newly literate members of the audience. Like Milne’s books, the movie is partly an initiation into the delightful errancies of language, which fashions sense and nonsense out of the same materials.
The story partly turns on the difficulties of English spelling and reading comprehension. Christopher Robin leaves a note that is wildly misconstrued by his stuffed-animal companions, who conjure monsters out of the fog of their own confusion.
They also are in search of Eeyore’s tail, and Pooh himself, true to form, is on a perpetual quest for honey. Much silliness ensues, a few lessons are broached, and the characters now and then burst into song. These tunes are passable, but the real musical treats come early and late, via the vocals of Zooey Deschanel. The vocal performances are lively without being showy—Craig Ferguson is a particularly fine Owl—and the film as a whole is decidedly modest, seeking not to reboot or update the Hundred Acre Wood, but rather to brighten it up a bit and get it back to how it used to be.
So it is good to see Pooh again, along with Rabbit, Owl and Eeyore (my own Milnean avatar)—and to discover a new path back into the old, classic story. Winnie the Pooh may not be a movie that grown-ups seek out on their own, but it may make some of them jealous of the 4-year-olds who are making the noble bear’s acquaintance for the first time.

While Roberto Clemente amassed a mountain of impressive statistics during his baseball career, he was often mocked by the print media in the United States for his heavy Spanish accent. Clemente was also subjected to the double discrimination of being a foreigner and being black in a racially segregated society. Although the media tried to call him "Bob" or "Bobby" and many of his baseball cards use "Bob," Clemente explicitly rejected those nicknames, stating in no uncertain terms that his name was Roberto. There was also confusion over the correct form of his surname. For 27 years the plaque at the National Baseball Hall of Fame read "Roberto Walker Clemente," mistakenly placing his mother's maiden name before his father's surname. Only in 2000 was it changed to its proper Latin American form, Roberto Clemente Walker.
This excerpt would most likely inspire a story about
A. the campaign to correct Roberto Clemente's name in the Hall of Fame
B. the impressive baseball career of Roberto Clemente
C. the marriage of Roberto Clemente's parents
D. the nicknames earned by Roberto Clemente during his career
This excerpt would most likely inspire a story about the marriage of Roberto Clemente's parents. Therefore option C is the correct response.

Clemente participated in 15 All-Star Games and was an All-Star for 13 seasons. [b] He won the Gold Glove Award for 12 straight seasons from 1961 through 1972, was named the National League's (NL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 1966, and led the league in batting average in 1961, 1964, 1965, and 1967. During his major league career, he had 3,000 hits and a batting average of over.300 for 13 seasons.
He won the World Series twice as well. Clemente became the first person from the Caribbean and Latin America to win the World Series in 1960 while playing in a starting position, to win the NL MVP Award in 1966, and to win the World Series MVP Award in 1970. (1971).

"Who was Anne Frank" In the final paragraph, Anne Frank is referred to as “a symbol for the lost promise of the children who died in the Holocaust.” What does this mean and how does it contribute to the development of ideas in the text? Cite evidence from the text to support your answer.
Answer:
Anne Frank was referred as “a symbol for the lost promise of the children who died in the Holocaust” because she was one of the many young kids who had to overcome hard times and keep on going, hoping that everything would go back to normal. As stated in the text, it said that “While in hiding, Anne kept a diary in which she recorded her fears, hopes, and experiences.”.
So, other young kids (who experience the Holocaust) probably had the same thoughts/feeling that Anne had. By the way, this all contributes to the development of ideas in the text because it talks/tells about what other kids like Anne might have dealt with while being in a such hard and cruel time.
So, the meaning of the Anne being referred as “a symbol for the lost promise” was that she share a story/feelings about how her life was ripped apart but was still hoping for the best, in which other young Jewish kids might have felt too and wish for (What I’m trying to say is that the story/feelings that many young kids had was not lost and is still alive and known.
Even though the text talks more about Anne life and not others, this life was the same for many Jewish kids who suffered in the Holocaust. Although other young kids’ story’s might not have been stored or kept, they still have a way in which their own life was known and that’s by Anne Frank’s life story).

C It points out that beginning exercisers may not like walking because it is too easy.
D It says that walking is less costly than other activities because it needs no equipment.

D. Mosquito
Complete Question:
Which of the following does NOT belong to the group based on its mode of reproduction.
Group of answer choices.
A. Butterfly
B.Frog
C. Dog
D. Mosquito
Answer:
C. Dog
Explanation:
The mode of reproduction of a dog is different from the other living organisms listed above because it is a mammal. Mammals carry their foetus in their womb for a specific period of time before the offspring is then delivered.
Generally, mammals experience a gestation period and it is typically between 58 to 68 days for dogs. This gestation period refers to the period between when fertilization of the egg cells occur and when the mammalian organism gives birth.
Also, unlike the insects and reptiles such as frog, butterfly, or mosquitoes, mammals breastfeed their offsprings.
