how did you imagine islam, and after learning about islam what were the differences?

thank you, have a wonderful day <3

Answers

Answer 1
Hello, I am a Muslim myself and I was born into Islam, so I am a devoted follower since young age. Most people imagine Islam as a concept, a place where people are trapped and suffer from giving up time to pray, to fast, to not have pork or drink alcohol, to not dress inappropriately, to not listen to music or watch TV and numerous other things. But that’s the most outrageous thing a person can think. Islam is beautiful religion, it brings peace and reassurance and it is my safe place. It has restrictions, and I would never once be angry or annoyed about them; I am not a perfect Muslim, I commit Haraam (forbidden) acts and sin, I listen to music, I sometimes don’t pray and I don’t respect my parents at times. But that does not define Islam, Allah (God) is the most forgiving being to exist, and I know it is wrong and I repent and I know that I will be forgiven. If I was a non-believer, I would imagine Islam as a intricate religion, with people extremely dedicated: I would be ashamed to say, but I would think it’s a very claustrophobic “cult”. But being a part of such a life-changing religion, I am grateful to be born into an Islamic family. Muslims attend local Mosques to learn about Islam, so I was lucky to have such a useful place to learn and become at one with my faith. I also take Religious Studies as one of my GCSE exam options, and half of the course is Islam. If I was a non-believer, I would most likely know little about Islam but the Secondary School curriculum does teach some of Islam in depth. It isn’t as small as it is made out to be and it has so much more to it than students are taught. The difference is us, as citizens in a majority White-based society, we do not take Islam seriously; it is a place of piety and it is pure. Being a part of Islam is the most satisfying and relaxing part. Allah (our only God) brings each and every Muslim so much self-assurance and we feel so protected and in the hands of the most amazing existence. You learn that Muslims see things in a different way, we are grateful and caring and gentle and look after everyone. We accept and respect and are genuine humans. But more than anything, we are free. It’s ironic. But we are the most free at heart.

That’s the difference in how Islam is imagined and then perceived after learning about it in greater detail.

I hope this helps and was insightful, please take time to read and think about this and I apologise for the length.

Branch Rickey tells Jackie Robinson he's looking for a player with the courage not to fight back if he is persecuted, insulted, abused, and hated by players, officials, and fans. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Why or why not?

Answers

Answer:

I agree

Explanation:

Although Rickey saw a lot of talent and skill in Jackie Robinson, he wanted a player who would accept criticism and persecution quietly. In fact, he wanted Jackie to remain silent with any libel and swearing, abuse, words of hatred and harassment that were imposed on him. That's because Jackie was the first black athlete to be called to the team and if he answered the criticism, no one would take him seriously as a player, but he would see him as someone who was problematic and did not fit the job.

HELPPPO PLZZZ

Answers

Answer:

The Three-fifths Compromise was a compromise reached among state delegates during the 1787 United States Constitutional Convention.

Explanation:

Delegates disputed whether and how slaves would be counted when determining a state's total population, as this number would determine a state's number of seats in the House of Representatives and how much it would pay in taxes. The compromise counted three-fifths of each state's slave population toward that state's total population for the purpose of apportioning the House of Representatives, giving the Southern states a third more seats in Congress and a third more electoral votes than if slaves had been ignored, but fewer than if slaves and free people had been counted equally.

Read these lines from the story.

"When Tom finished, Mr. Berry smiled and said, 'Well, somebody found it and returned it. That's the important thing. It's important to remember that everybody makes mistakes. I guess we both did in this case.' "

Write a paragraph explaining what these lines reveal about Mr. Berry. Use details from the story to support your answer.

Here is the whole story in case you want it:
The Case of the Missing Library Book

Mr. Berry, the librarian, had a reputation for being strict and for never making mistakes. He maintained complete order in the library and could tell immediately if a book was missing or misplaced. He did not say much. This struck fear into the students. They always said that Mr. Berry did not have to talk. When someone was careless with a book, the look on Mr. Berry’s face told that person everything he or she needed to know.
All of this contributed to making Tom feel terrible about losing the copy of Animal Farm that he had borrowed nearly four weeks earlier. It was as if the book had disappeared from the face of the earth. In fact, Tom had completely forgotten about the book until he received an overdue notice from Mr. Berry through the mail. Tom did not look forward to facing the librarian directly. When he left for school that morning, he felt as if he were going to his execution.
Tom’s fear increased with each tick of the clock. It was already fourth period by the time he talked himself into going to see Mr. Berry. As he walked to the library, his palms were sweating and he felt as though he had butterflies performing acrobatics in his stomach. When he walked through the doors, he saw that the library was deserted, except for Mr. Berry. Tom was happy that nobody would witness the embarrassing scene that was sure to erupt.
Upon seeing Tom, Mr. Berry said, "Oh Tom, I owe you an apology. I guess I made a mistake. I didn't realize that you had already returned Animal Farm." At first, Tom didn't know what to say, and then, much to his surprise, he found himself telling Mr. Berry that he hadn't returned the book, that he'd lost it, and that he'd looked all over for it but couldn't find it. Tom could not stop the words from coming out of his mouth.
When Tom finished, Mr. Berry smiled and said, "Well, somebody found it and returned it. That's the important thing. It's important to remember that everybody makes mistakes. I guess we both did in this case." Tom smiled too; he felt relieved. As he made his way back to class, he decided that he really liked Mr. Berry and that he would try to use the library more often.

Answers

Answer:

Lin relied on aggressive moral tone, meanwhile proceeding relentlessly against British merchants in a manner that could only insult their government. The only lesson Lin drew from China’s humiliation was that it was necessary to learn more about these “barbarians” and to import their technology. He could neither comprehend the implications of the European challenge nor overcome the weakness and conservative opposition of his contemporaries. Later, the so-called Self-Strengthening Movement adopted Lin’s program of reform; still later generations of revolutionaries abandoned Chinese culture in order to save China but accepted Lin as a national hero because of his courage and example in opposing the British.
